BACKGROUND INFORMATION

After the uncertainty of Title I, Part C funding this past summer had passed, NASDME undertook extensive investigation into various formats for the 2026 National Conference. We had a shortened period for planning and valid concerns were communicated to NASDME by state and local MEP staff about airport security and about travel to different cities in these very uncertain times.

Further, with the challenge of some state and local district travel restrictions and some limited travel budgets this year, NASDME decided to hold this new and different Convocation 2026 -- an interactive next-generation digital conference, Many aspects of the Conference will be familiar, but there will also be many new innovations,

There will be a wide variety of  live high quality workshops with Q and A and stimulating and inspiring General Sessions (including live scholarship awards and the speeches of the scholarship winners.)

There will be a video Library of all sessions for three months after the Conference, so attendees can view additional workshops or see their favorites again,   There will also be Vendor Booths and many opportunities to interact with other attendees.  For the first time, there will be fun contests and competitions open to all attendees.

With the advantage of not having to pay for travel this year, we hope many people can attend the Convocation who would not otherwise have been able to do so or have not been able to travel in past years.   The fact that the costs are significantly lower to attend this year, we are seeing a strong turnout.  Sign up today!
